Sinking back against the wall
Put my head back; let the tears fall.
I don’t know what I thought you’d say
I don’t understand, not till this day.
I thought you’d be there when I cried.
Then I found out that it was all a lie.
‘Cause things only get better when they stay good
Would you help me? I thought you would.
Even when you turned away
I always thought you’d come back to stay.
I believed you’d apologize,
And it would be our next sunrise,
Beginning the next day and the next story
And we’d dance away in all our glory.
I knew you were wrong
And I knew it would take a long
Time for you to see
But I thought in the end you’d still care about me.
I sat patiently waiting for nights so starry,
Until I realized, you can’t spell sorry.
